اوّلين نتيجه مهم اين تحقيق را ميتوان شناسايي تأثير مثبت و قابل ملاحظه مخارج بهداشتي (به عنوان متغير نماينده سرمايه بهداشتي) بر رشد اقتصادي، بر شمرد که مباحث نظري مطروحه در مورد اثرات مستقيم و غير مستقيم و ساير اثرات بهداشت بر رشد اقتصادي را تأييد مي کند.
دوّمين نتيجه مهم اين تحقيق را مي توان شناسايي تأثير مثبت رشد اقتصادي بر مخارج بهداشتي قلمداد کرد که از نتايج آزمونهاي همزماني به دست مي آيد و مباحث نظري پيش گفته در مورد مجاري تأثير رشد اقتصادي بر بهداشت را تأييد مي کند.
مي‌توان نتايج فرعي قابل ملاحظه اي را به نتايج مذکور افزود. اولين نتيجه فرعي مهم آن است که تخمين هاي انجام شده در اين تحقيق نشان داد ديدگاهي که معضل کمبود سرمايه فيزيکي را به عنوان اصلي ترين چالش کشورهاي در حال توسعه در فرايند رشد و توسعه بر شمرد، مردود است و بر عکس، ديدگاه جديدي که سرمايه‌هاي انساني (اعّم از آموزشي و بهداشتي) را به عنوان سنگ بناي فرآيند رشد و توسعه معرفي مي‌کند، پذيرفته ميشود.
ديگر آنکه؛ وجود همگرايي مشروط در اين الگو مي‌تواند اثبات کند که کاربرد الگوهاي رشد برونزا براي مطالعه پويايي هاي رشد در کشورهاي در حال توسعه هنوز هم مناسب به نظر مي رسد.
با توجّه به جميع مطالب گفته شده، مي توان سياست هاي کلّي زير را براي کشورهاي در حال توسعه پيشنهاد کرد:
1- نگاه برنامه ريزان اقتصادي در کشورهاي در حال توسعه به هزينه هاي اختصاص يافته به برنامه‌هاي بهداشت و رفاه عمومي، بايد به سوي نوعي سرمايه گذاري براي تحقّق رشد و توسعه اقتصادي آتي معطوف شود.
2- توجّه و اهتمام بيشتر به برنامه‌هاي فقرزدايي( به واسطه گسترش مشارکت فقيرترين بخش‌هاي جامعه در توليد و سازندگي)مي تواند نقش اساسي در تحقّق رشد اقتصادي پايدار داشته باشد و طبعاً برنامه‌هاي بهداشتي به عنوان يکي از مؤلّفه هاي اصلي استراتژيهاي فقرزدايي نقش عمده اي را در اين ميان دارد.
